4. Kris Humphries Shushes Madison Square Garden
Kris Humphries took a lot of heat from basketball reality show fans this season. Apparently getting divorced in incredibly public fashion by a billionaire socialite makes you the scourge of the NBA and patient zero for people’s frustrations. Somehow, Kim Kardashian becomes the subject of sympathy for pocketing $18 million on the reality show that detailed their wedding, and Kris is the public outcast. Who knew?
Kris took all of the booing — from every city — in stride, averaged another double-double, and refused to talk about his scandalous summer. He wanted to play basketball, and I don’t blame him.
I also don’t blame him for this, after the loudest fans of all in Madison Square Garden (as they’d been all season) rained down their loudest sneer cheer of all, and Kris had just about had it. For one moment, he allowed himself the ego to tell 20,000 New Yorkers to do what I’m sure he wanted to since that first day: just shut up.
