In the ever-expanding list of things that are truly all new with this year’s franchise, the Brooklyn Nets will unveil their official mascot and song during tomorrow night’s opener, and more:
- The mascot, known only at this point as the Brooklyn Nets Super Hero, is a knight designed by Marvel Comics, a mascot sure to appeal to Brook Lopez’s sensibilities.
- The team’s anthem is called Brooklyn: Something To Lean On. The song is written and recorded by Brooklynite John Forté.
- Chrisette Michele will sing the American National Anthem. Lorenzo Bell will sing the Canadian National Anthem. (Raptors!)
- The Nets will also hand out commemorative opening night t-shirts to anyone that can muster up the strength to make the trip out.
