Nets center Willie Reed will sit out Tuesday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers with a sore left knee, the team announced following their Monday practice. Reed has appeared in 35 games to date (one start), averaging 4.4 points and 2.8 rebounds in 10.3 minutes per game.
Reed has floated in and out of the rotation since returning from a torn ligament in his thumb in the beginning of December. After back-to-back double-digit scoring games against the Minnesota Timberwolves and Toronto Raptors, Reed did not play (coach’s decision) in the team’s 95-89 loss to the 76ers last week, and played just under four minutes in the team’s Sunday night loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
The team also listed fellow rookie Chris McCullough as questionable with an undisclosed virus, and Wayne Ellington (upper respiratory) as probable.
