July 2, 2010 Blueprint for Greatness
Prokhorov has said on several occasions that he wants to turn Knicks fans into Nets fans. To this end, the Nets put up a 21,375 square foot billboard on a building across the street from Madison Square Garden at the beginning of NBA free agency in 2010, visible from Knicks offices at the arena. The ad said “The Blueprint for Greatness,” a play on soon-to-be-former Nets minority owner Jay-Z’s “The Blueprint,” and has several-story tall images of Jay-Z and Prokhorov. The Knicks supposedly complained to the league about the billboard, though they deny those claims.
