Well, it finally happened.
Kevin Garnett spoke with reporters today and admitted that he isn’t sure what his role is in the Nets offense.
The Nets beat writers recorded the exchange on Twitter. The Daily News’ Stefan Bondy presented the quotes as follows:
An introspective Kevin Garnett said today that this is the most frustrating season of his career.

Kevin Garnett said he has no rhythm and he doesn't know where he fits into the offense.

KG: "I show up everyday and I try to be a professional and give everything I have. You put Father Time on top of that, it doesn’t help."

KG on team's biggest issue: "No idea. We have many issues. Right now I’m trying to make sure that eventually I’m able to give something."

“The most frustrating thing about me is I could see if wasn’t hitting shots and I wasn’t in here working or taking [expletive] days off" …

KG continued: ". …But I put time into my craft for it to come out. But then that’s rhythm on offense. And I don’t have that right now.”

I asked Jason Kidd if he is holding back Garnett's minutes to save him for the playoffs. Kidd said it's to get Garnett through the season.

Obviously, this is getting bad. These “I don’t know my role” quotes have haunted the Nets these last two years. Gerald Wallace famously said it after game 80 last season. Nine games later, their season was over.
For KG, a guy who was brought in to lead and “intensify” this roster, to not know where he fits is very troubling.
