Around the Nets: Casual Friday

Around the Nets: Casual Friday
  • One long-suffering Nets fan is excited about the “fresh start” Brooklyn and Jay-Z provide.
  • Tim Bontemps has an idea of who the Nets will keep and who they’ll let go.

  • We’re a day late on this, so apologies and a belated happy birthday to one Mikhail Prokhorov.
  • More events at the Barclays Center: boxing and Barbara Streisand. Presumably not together.

  • Ryan Anderson, Brook Lopez’s ex-best-teammate and Nets throw-in to ensure that Vince Carter’s contract would bounce around the league for the following three years, has been named the NBA’s Most Improved Player for the 2011-12 season. Yes, he probably didn’t deserve it (hey there, Nikola Pekovic), but it just serves as yet another reminder that the Nets tossed him away.

  • No Nets won (nor will win) any official NBA awards, but two Nets made The Hoop Doctors’ list for Top 10 Dunkers in 2012.
