Mazzeo: Nets interest in Livingston is ‘serious’

Mike Mazzeo of ESPNNewYork.com is reporting that the Nets have a serious interest in free agent point guard Shaun Livingston.

Marc Stein, of ESPN.com, reported yesterday afternoon that the Nets were interested in Livingston and John Lucas III.

This makes the second unnamed source, and who doesn’t love unnamed sources, reporting on the Nets interest in Livingston.

The Nets are in heavy need for a back-up point guard after the loss of C.J. Watson to Indiana, as their depth at the position begins and ends with sophomore Tyshawn Taylor.

Livingston averaged 6.3 points, 3.3 assists in 22 minutes per game last season.

  1. He should be able to buy us some time before we have to decide on Taylor. Would be great though if we could trade Evans for a vet backup pg.
