Around the Nets Wednesday: Hump Day Edition

  • Dave D’Alessandro spoke with Jayson Williams: “Yes, you’ll probably dismiss his God-speak or do-gooding or Bible-thumping as the last refuge of a scoundrel — help yourself. But let’s remember two things: There was always a lot of good in Jayson Williams; and the crime for which he will always be remembered was not the result of some malicious intent. It was the result of a horrific mistake that he thinks about hourly. He still calls it “My accident.”
  • Thanks to MarShon Brooks, Nets PR and Instagram, we now know what the award for NBA All-Rookie Second Team looks like, which apparently is no more impressive than your everyday paper weight?
  • Nothing newsworthy about this, but starting July 1 all eyes are on Deron Williams. Chris Broussard of ESPN ponders the possible ending destinations for Williams and what may or may not affect his decision. (ESPN Insider, sorry!)
  • One team that may be out of the D-Will sweepstakes is the Lakers. In an interview with the LA Times, Lakers exec Jim Buss says the team plans “no major moves” this off-season.
