The domain rights to Nets.com were sold within the last week, according to an employee at Cyber Mesa, the telecommunications company currently listed as the domain’s owner.
According to NetsDaily, the previous owners of the site were seeking a seven-figure deal for the domain name from the Brooklyn Nets. It is not clear what cost the site was sold for, nor whom it was sold to.
As reported earlier this week, the new owner (or owners) of the site have set it up to redirect to the official website of the New York Knicks.
This isn’t the first time the Nets.com domain has been set up to inspire ire from the Nets franchise. On previous occasions, the domain has linked to the Dallas Mavericks splash page, as well as a standalone page that seemingly served as a taunt from Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to Nets fans & Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov.
