Andrea Bargnani, Brooklyn Nets center and member of the Italian men’s national basketball team, is “likely to play” Wednesday in the Eurobasket quarterfinals, according to Sportando. Bargnani suffered a calf injury late in the first half of a game against Israel this past Sunday.
The game will take place at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday on NBA TV.
He is officially listed as a game-time decision. On his Twitter account, Bargnani says (in his native tongue) that he’s undergoing physical therapy, with the hopes of being able to play:
Qui non si molla mai e si va avanti con la fisioterapia per provare ad esserci mercoledì. Grazie sempre di esserci!

In six Eurobasket games, Bargnani has posted averages of 12.7 points and 3.7 rebounds, and one block in 20.8 minutes per game, shooting 54.2 percent from the field (32-59) and hitting six of 11 three-pointers.
Bojan Bogdanovic, the other Nets player in Eurobasket, was eliminated from contention this weekend on Saturday after his Croatian national team fell to the Czech Republic, 80-59. Bogdanovic, who suffered an ankle injury and a minor concussion during the tournament, shot just 31.5 percent from the field in Eurobasket, hitting a dismal 4 of 24 three-pointers.
