After a two-day stint in Springfield with the team’s D-League affiliate Springfield Armor, Tornike Shengelia and Tyshawn Taylor have been recalled by the Brooklyn Nets, the team announced today.
The team sent down Shengelia and Taylor Saturday to get them some playing time in the Armor’s Sunday afternoon game against the Maine Red Claws. The Armor, who were 1-9 heading into the game, won 93-74 behind 23 points from Shengelia.
The move also presupposed the idea that forward Andrei Kirilenko and guard Jason Terry, who have both been injured for over a month, may return to the rotation. Indeed, Kirilenko and Terry practiced with the team yesterday. But given the tone from shootaround, the Nets may open Kirilenko and Terry as a Christmas present:
Jason Kidd not sure if Andrei Kirilenko or Jason Terry, who both practiced yesterday, will be available tonight. Didn't sound optimistic.
