Indiana Pacers associate head coach and Brooklyn Nets coaching candidate Brian Shaw’s representative, W. Jerome Stanley, released a statement via Ramona Shelburne of ESPNLA.com about Shaw’s future:
“The Pacers have been contacted by several teams since the end of the season regarding Brian (Shaw). The season has ended now and he plans to speak to a few teams about potential opportunities to be head coach. He will not be commenting on anything to do with this process, or the specific teams involved. There currently are no interviews scheduled.”
While Stanley refused to get into specifics about Shaw’s future with Shelburne, prior reports indicate that two of the teams Shaw will speak with are the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers.
What caught my eye was the last sentence — as of this time, Shaw has no interviews scheduled, despite the Pacers granting permission to the Nets & Clippers to speak with him. I imagine that will change soon.
