The Nets were already big underdogs going into Sunday’s game, but it just got a bit harder. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson will sit out against the Golden State Warriors after spraining his right ankle in team practice Saturday afternoon.
Hollis-Jefferson had made 14 consecutive starts before spraining the ankle, which also gave him problems in preseason. As the team’s best wing defender, he’ll be sorely missed as the Nets take on the undefeated Warriors, who boast two elite perimeter scorers in reigning MVP Stephen Curry and All-Star Klay Thompson.
The Nets will also be without Sergey Karasev (left ankle) and Andrea Bargnani (left hamstring), Bargnani for the third straight game.
