After joining an oddly exclusive club Friday night — becoming the only person in NBA history to ever attempt 16 free throws and grab 24 rebounds in less than 40 minutes in a single game (Evans did it in just 32) — Evans had yet another weird, albeit not statistically historical, game Monday night against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Evans is known for doing two things well — rebounding (which everyone knows) and defending the pick-and-roll (less publicized, but he’s the most active Nets big defender cutting off guards) — and anything else is gravy. Well, the Nets ate a lot of Evans gravy Monday night, as you can see below:
Maybe he didn’t make any record books, but Reggie Evans hitting a 17-footer is kind of like entering the record books, right?
Evans finished with 9 points on 4-9 shooting, 11 rebounds, that one block (he has 11 on the season), and officially three turnovers (though I thought I counted four) in 31 minutes.
