The Brooklyn Nets have made their first cut of the preseason, officially waiving Marko Jaric shortly after their 82-80 victory over the Boston Celtics Tuesday night.
Jaric was a training camp invitee and not expected to make the team.
In his words:
@markojaric: Thanks to the Brooklyn Nets organization for everything but I am just to much out of shape. Good luck!!!

The Nets preseason roster now stands at 18 players, fifteen with guaranteed contracts. The three remaining training camp invitees — Gary Forbes, Jorge Gutierrez, and Chris Johnson — are not expected to make the team’s NBA roster. Gutierrez and Johnson both have D-League affiliations elsewhere, and the Nets would have to complete a trade through their D-League affiliate franchise Springfield Armor in order to ascertain their rights. Forbes does not have any D-League rights and could be offered a spot on the Armor outright.
