Nets trounce 76ers for third straight win

Final: 04/04/2017

W 141 118

After falling to Philadelphia three times this season, Brooklyn took Tuesday night to blow the 76ers out of the water in a 141-118 defeat. That’s Brooklyn’s third win in a row, its longest streak of the season.

You knew it was going to be a good game when it started with Brook Lopez draining a three-pointer.

The whole game was just shooting practice for Brooklyn. The Nets held an 18-8 lead just five minutes into the game and put up a tied season-high 40 points in the first quarter on a blazing 71 percent shooting.

The three ball played a big part in the team’s 64 percent shooting from the field. The team shot 16-31 from three, with nine different Nets making a trey. Brooklyn put up 12 threes in the first half alone.

The Nets ended up with a franchise-high 81 first-half points on 70 percent shooting. I’ll take that any day.

Almost the whole team had a hot hand, and with a season-high 36 of the team’s 48 shots being assisted on, the team was working like clockwork.

Every player saw action tonight, and besides Andrew Nicholson, 12 Nets recorded at least five points each. Eight players scored in double figures, matching a season-high, and they did it it all without a player scoring more than 16 points.

The guys were just having fun.

After posting 100 points with five minutes to go in the third quarter, the rest of the game continued to be the Nets obliterating the Sixers in Philly, posting their second game scoring 140+ this season.

Brooklyn now has a 10-12 record since the All-Star Break. This winning games thing ain’t so bad.

Caris LeVert

The stats: 7 PTS, 3-5 FG, 1-3 3PT, 4 REB, 7 AST, 1 STL, 1 BLK

Caris LeVert dished out a career-high seven assists to go with his seven points. Adding four rebounds, LeVert is showing more and more of his game every day.

Brook Lopez

The stats: 16 PTS, 4-5 FG, 2-2 3PT, 6-6 FT, 4 REB, 1 AST, 3 BLK

Missed one field goal, made all his free throws, made both his threes and added three blocks. Another day in the life of Brook Lopez.
