The Nets have signed point guard Jorge Gutierrez to a second ten-day contract, the team announced today.
Gutierrez played in just five minutes in one game of garbage time, making his debut and lone performance on March 9th against the Sacramento Kings. He is the fourth Mexican-born player in NBA history. He participated in the team’s training camp at Duke before spending most of the season in the D-League.
The Nets own Gutierrez’s rights until March 27th. After that time, they can either release him or sign him for the rest of the season.
Cool story about Gutierrez: He was originally an undocumented citizen in America protected under the DREAM act.
