The Nets officially signed forward/center Henry Sims to a ten-day contract Thursday morning. Sims will wear #14.
The deal was first reported Tuesday, but waiting allows the Nets to see Sims in action for at least one more game before deciding whether or not to give him a second ten-day contract. He’ll stay with the team through at least next Saturday’s game against the Indiana Pacers, which gives Sims a five-game audition.
In 39 D-League games this season with the Grand Rapids Drive, Sims posted averages of 15.8 points and 8.8 rebounds in an even 30 minutes per game. Sims will back up Nets center Brook Lopez along with Willie Reed; Reed has recently battled a sore left knee.
