2. Joe Holup, 100th overall (13th round), 1954, Philadelphia Warriors
Career NBA stats: 192 games: 18.4 minutes, 7.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists per game.
This one is on a technicality: 6’6″ George Washington University forward Joe Holup was selected with the last pick of the 1954 draft after his sophomore year, but he skipped the pro game for two more years of college.
Holup, the NCAA leader in rebounds with 25.6 per game in 1955-56, ended up going fifth overall in the 1956 draft to the Syracuse Nationals (present-day Sixers). Holup then spent just three years in the NBA with the Warriors and Detroit Pistons, who moved to the Motor City from Fort Wayne, Indiana when Holup arrived in 1957.
