Kevin Garnett will sit out to rest for the Nets’ Friday night game against the Philadelphia 76ers, the team announced before the game.

Brook Lopez will start in his place.

Garnett normally sits on the second half of back-to-backs, but with the team facing the surging Detroit Pistons Saturday night, the Nets elected to rest Garnett against the 5-29 76ers and have him go up against the Pistons’ formidable frontline.
