Despite playing just 14 minutes in the team’s 103-100 victory over the Sacramento Kings Wednesday, Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Garnett will sit out Thursday night’s contest to rest, Lionel Hollins announced shortly before the game. Nets center Brook Lopez will start in his place.
Garnett has averaged 7.0 points and 7.2 rebounds per game this season, usually sitting out to rest on one end of back-to-back games. He will miss a game against the Los Angeles Clippers, coached by Doc Rivers, who coached Garnett during Garnett’s tenure with the Boston Celtics.
