January 5, 2007: The Circus Shot

Nate Robinson isn’t the only one who can make ridiculous shots in Nets/Bulls games.

In a regular season game against the Bulls in 2007, the Nets held an 87-84 lead heading into the final 30 seconds. With the shot clock winding down, Kidd drove the baseline into the center of the paint and threw up a behind-the-head circus shot that went in to seal the victory.

The amazing shot lead to Ian Eagle emphatically calling Jason Kidd a Magician and the Birdman saying, “Jay-Z has seen a lot in his day, but he’s never seen that,” as the camera panned to the Hova giving an “Oh Man!” face and patting some (seemingly) random dude on the back.

The only unfortunate part of the whole play is Jay-Z’s hoodie.

Kidd’s stat line for the whole game? Just your run of the mill J-Kidd stat stuffer: 17 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals.
