For New Brooklyn Nets Fans: It’s Important To Know Reggie Evans Once Grabbed Chris Kaman’s Junk In A Playoff Game

Outside of some well-intentioned criticism about his place in the starting lineup, Reggie Evans is a fan favorite in Brooklyn. He gets some of the loudest earnest cheers in Barclays Center, whether it’s from diving into the stands to save a loose ball to preserve possession, or hitting free throws after teams try Hack-A-Reggie.

But, as The Score reminds us today, Reggie Evans’s most famous moment on the basketball court isn’t something most of us would cheer for: it’s the time Evans reached under Chris Kaman’s legs and… well…

It came in Game 4 of the Denver Nuggets’ 2006 first round series against the Los Angeles Clippers, where, when tussling with Clippers big man Chris Kaman for a rebound — and rebound-tussling is the area of the game where something like 85 percent of Reggie’s impact is felt — Evans found time to surreptitiously grab a handful of Kaman’s testicles, enraging the young center in to pushing Evans to the ground, and giving the “Inside the NBA” guys something to chortle about after the game. (Ernie: “He got caught with his hand in the cookie jar, and…” Charles: “Ernie, I don’t know where you get your cookies at…”)

Along with the discussion of Evans’s classic reachunder, writer Andrew Unterberger uses the opportunity to write a great profile of Evans. Go check it out below.
