With the Prince & Princess watching, “King” James might make an American political statement.

Prince William & Princess Kate land in New York City today, with a trip to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center to watch the Nets take on LeBron James’s Cleveland Cavaliers on their docket. James told reporters that he’s looking for a shirt similar to the one Derrick Rose wore prior to Bulls-Warriors, with the words “I Can’t Breathe” emblazoned on the front, which were the last words of Staten Island man Eric Garner, who was killed in an altercation with police that did not result in an indictment.

James is a four-time MVP and the league’s most visible star. According to the New York Daily News:

“It was spectacular,” James said about Rose’s shirt, which he wore in pre-game warmups Saturday night. “I loved it. I’m looking for one.”

The Cavaliers are in a groove, having won six straight games coming into Brooklyn, while the Nets come off an ugly 98-75 loss to the Atlanta Hawks Friday night.
