Draft Grades

As usual, all NBA analysts started to grade the 30 NBA teams on their draft selections. The Nets were mostly in the B-to-B+ range.

  • Pro Basketball Talk gave the Nets a B, stating that MarShon Brooks was a good piece to help the rebuilding process for the Nets.
  • Sporting News gave the Nets a B+, and claimed that the Nets got a player that they had going 15th to the Pacers as well as Jordan Williams.
  • SB Nation praised the Nets for taking Brooks for his volume scoring, but wasn’t as enthusiastic about Williams or Bojan Bogdanovic. The result was a B+.
  • ESPN’s Chad Ford gave the Nets a B+.

My opinion of Jordan Williams is probably higher than most, so I gave a slightly higher grade. Obviously, anything is possible with Brooks, Bogdanovic, or Williams. The Nets got acclaim for their 2006 draft (Marcus Williams and Josh Boone) and clearly that didn’t work out. So who knows?
