Presuming this doesn’t mean that he’s merely headed out to lunch to enjoy a nice spare ribs combo, Deron Williams will not suit up tonight against the Boston Celtics, due to the rib injury he sustained in Monday’s game against the Indiana Pacers. Deron returned to the game after sustaining the injury, but will rest up tonight. Rookie and sole bright spot MarShon Brooks will start in his place, and will get a solid rookie hazing chasing Ray Allen around off-ball screens.
The Nets are now missing their two best players (Williams and Brook Lopez), and arguably their third: Kris Humphries will also sit to rest his sore left shoulder. They’ll face the Boston Celtics, playing at full strength.
