Deron Williams did not participate in this morning’s shootaround with the Brooklyn Nets, but is still listed as probable for tonight’s game, according to Rod Boone of Newsday. Williams did not practice yesterday due to flu-like symptoms. Nets coach P.J. Carlesimo says he is “hopeful” Williams will play.
Williams has averaged 12 points and 7.5 assists on 38.5% shooting in two games against Miami this season, but those games came earlier in the season, when Williams was struggling with some combination of a wrist injury, Avery Johnson’s system, a mental block, and all other negative stimuli. In the month of January, Williams has averaged 18.9 points, 8.5 assists, and 3.9 rebounds on 45.7% shooting and 43.6% from beyond the arc in the month of January.
