Daily Link: The Search for an Armor Coach

With the Nets set to take over the Springfield Armor, a D-League team, on May 1st, Billy King and his staff are looking to find a coach and an assistant for the team.

The Nets hope to have the coaches hired by the NBA Draft on June 23rd. Former Boston Celtic/current Armor coach Dee Brown and current Armor assistant Kevin Whitted are seen as candidates to be brought back. Brown has had a 20-80 record in his two seasons with the team, but the Nets apparently understand the paucity of talent that the Armor have had under Brown.

I, for one, am thrilled that the Nets are making an effort to run the D-League affiliate. While the D-League usually won’t produce superstars, it is a great outlet for finding role players and building a strong supporting cast.
