We all know that the Nets are scheduled to leave New Jersey and move into a permanent residence in Brooklyn in 2012. However, such news has never shook Newark Mayor Cory Booker. Booker wants to entertain the idea of another team in Newark and claims that he is open to all ideas.
As a resident of the Garden State, I would love to see Newark gain another NBA team. However, the logistics of such a move make no sense. An expansion team would have no shot of gaining quick popularity when playing within 15 miles of the Nets and the Knicks. While Booker has some good-natured thinking, it is just wishful thinking in the end.
