One final thought: I’m relieved at the many of you who haven’t flown off the handle about an opening-night loss. Most of the people I’ve talked to seem to get that a) though it’s the first game, it’s just one game; b) the Nets played the entire fourth quarter without their floor general, who was injured and on a minutes restriction; c) they played without their sixth man, Andrei Kirilenko. The Nets were +5 with either Williams or Livingston on the floor, their only two true point guards that played. Last night’s game felt like a beta test. Friday’s game at the Miami Heat, if the team’s fully healthy, will mean a little more.
