The Sprinter
Awarded to the player with the fastest average speed, Mason Plumlee locked down this award with an average foot speed of 4.3 miles per hour on the court this season, and upped the foot speed with 4.4 miles per hour in the playoffs.
It’s not often you’ll get a seven-footer leading the charge, but the Nets weren’t exactly athletic: they averaged 4.0 miles per hour as a team, tied with three other teams for the slowest in the league. Plus, Plumlee’s not your average seven-footer:
Runner-Up: Andrei Kirilenko, who also averaged 4.3 miles per hour on the court, but Plumlee left him — and the team — in the dust in the playoffs.
