SHAW

Shaw is one of those eternally respected assistant coaches that always seems to be in the mix for a head coaching job, but never ends up the bride. He was considered for the Los Angeles Lakers job after Phil Jackson’s retirement, only to see that gig go to Mike Brown. (Brown, incidentally, was fired after a 1-4 start this season). Though I’d expect Mikhail Prokhorov to go after a bigger name, Shaw, now an assistant with the Indiana Pacers, would be a great “first-shot” coach for the Nets.
