Brook Lopez had arguably his best game of the season against the Boston Celtics, putting up 30 points and 13 rebounds in a 100-97 win over the Boston Celtics, but he was more concerned with his teammate’s injury than his own performance.
In a postgame interview with YES Network’s Sarah Kustok, Lopez said Jarrett Jack’s knee injury was “devastating” to see, wishing Jack well and adding that he hoped for the best.
“You never want to see that happen,” Lopez said. “We’re obviously hoping for the best he’s huge for us in so many ways. On and off the court he’s a leader for us. Probably our main leader, just a sparkplug, motivator, we’re all just wishing him the best right now.”
Jack’s knee buckled on a transition drive in the third quarter, and he was unable to leave the court without assistance.
