Brook Lopez left Saturday night’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks with a sore right foot in the third quarter and did not return. X-rays on the foot came back negative.

Lopez has undergone three surgeries on that right foot in four years. The first, on December 23, 2011, involved inserting a screw into Lopez’s foot following a fracture of the fifth metatarsal bone. The second came in June 2013, when the team found that the screw in Lopez’s foot had bent, and a replacement surgery kept him out of basketball-related activites for two months. The third, on January 4, 2014, both repaired another fracture of the fifth metatarsal and a first metatarsal osteotomy to balance the foot.

Lopez also suffered a “mild right midfoot sprain” on October 15, 2014, during the team’s preseason action before the 2014-15 season. He missed the remainder of preseason and sat out two regular season games.

Lopez played 68 minutes combined on back-to-back nights prior to the injury, and though the x-rays came back negative, there’s a good chance they’ll be cautious considering his injury history.

In the 29 minutes Lopez played Saturday, he finished with 20 points (9-17 FG), four rebounds, and one assist.
