Here’s the latest Nets news and notes from around the ‘nets:
- Countdown watch: we’re at six days until Media Day. Seven days until the opening of training camp down at Duke. 13 days until the first preseason game. 36 days until opening night against the Bulls. IT’S COMING.
- Nets GM Billy King will speak with the media this morning for the first time since Summer League. Lionel Hollins will come Thursday.
- Speaking of Hollins, the coach gave an interview on Sirius XM Radio last night. NetsDaily compiled a few tweets from ESPN reporter Mike Mazzeo, who listened in. Major takeaways: Hollins continuing to preach team over individual, and Joe Johnson surprised at Hollins’s shrinking gut.
- Hollins also said he’s come away very impressed with Brook Lopez stepping up this offseason. Remember, the relationship between these two started off just a smidge frosty last year.
- The Nets’ new hockey-playing Brooklyn roommate had a preseason game last night. At least two Nets went to check it out — Thaddeus Young (with family) and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (with Hollis-Jefferson jersey). Hollis-Jefferson, who now doubles as a fashion model, also played the part of analyst:
My 3 @nhl stars of the game: 3. @Simmonds17 2. @leeberr09 1. @91Tavares ⭐️ #CHAP

- Speaking of R.H.J., someone has to fit him with a Nets version of this.
