Andrei Kirilenko Chooses $20 Million Over Veteran’s Minimum, Signs With Minnesota Timberwolves

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, former NBA player, reigning Euroleague MVP, and CSKA Moscow’s positionless swiss army knife Andrei Kirilenko has agreed to a two-year contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves worth $20 million. The Brooklyn Nets had discussed signing Kirilenko to back up everyone Gerald Wallace and add to the team’s flexibility, but were able to offer only veteran’s minimum of $1.35 million.

Though the Nets still have one open roster spot, Kirilenko was the last “impact” player on the market. If I may be purely speculative, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Nets bring back one of Shelden Williams or Damion James, though neither would see much playing time.
