Brooklyn Nets center Andrea Bargnani had an precautionary MRI on his tight left hamstring which came back negative, the team announced shortly before their preseason opener against Fenerbahce Ulker. Bargnani was ruled out and did not play.
“I’m good,” Bargnani said after the game. “I’ll be back very soon. You’ve just got to be conscious.” He added that he began feeling pain Saturday, attributing it to “fatigue overload” from playing in Europe over the summer. It was not a re-aggravation of any previous injury.
Bargnani has missed 175 games over the past four seasons with various injuries, but neither Lionel Hollins nor Bargnani seemed concerned about the severity of the injury.
“No doubt, no issues, no concerns,” Bargnani said.
