Johnson hit 29 points in the third quarter alone, including eight three-pointers, tying an NBA record set by Michael Redd in 2002. It was comical: Johnson got open shot after open shot, and once the Sixers realized they might actually have to guard him, he just shot right over them. He even hit one that brought out vintage Ian Eagle: the Birdman said it was "Park Slope Deep!"

It was an unbelievable shooting display for the shooting guard, who hit them from all over the three-point line. Here's his shot chart from that quarter:

After three quarters, the Nets led the 76ers 100-73, and Johnson had 37 points for the game (a career-high in Brooklyn) and ten three-pointers (a career-high). The 29 points are the most Johnson has ever scored in a quarter in his career, and four shy of the record of 33 set by George Gervin and later tied by Carmelo Anthony.

Brooklyn Nets guard Deron Williams was one three-pointer shy of the NBA record for three-pointers in a game versus the Washington Wizards Friday night, finishing with 11 threes and 42 total points in a 95-78 victory. Williams set the NBA record for most three-pointers in a half, with nine in the first.
