What To Like About Dwyane Wade: What isn’t there to like about Wade?  He can snap the net on the regular with either jumpers in the arch, money balls from behind it, body-contorting lay-ups, or jams that make the crowd fill with “daaaaaaamn”s.  He can also board and distribute the ball, facilitating the offense.  Wade is also one of the league’s top thieves, playing the passing lanes well, and a game-changer on both ends of the floor.  We’ve seen the man put a whole team on his shoulders that included Shaquille O’Neal and won the title for Miami in 2006.  Wade is easily in the top five in the conversation as to who is the best player in the NBA.

What Not to Like About Dwyane Wade: Wade has an injury history, missing 62 combined games from 2006-08.  He’s two seasons removed from that period of time, but it doesn’t help that Wade attacks the basket like it’s a week late from paying him back.  Sure it’s awesome to see him go at it hard, but he’s getting older and his body has taken a lot of punishment already.  An injury creeping up on him isn’t out of the question.  However, maybe if he gets an effective supporting cast to take some heat off (sorry, pun unintended), Wade can limit the potential for sitting on the pine in civilian clothes.

Around The Web On Wade: A couple of weeks ago, J.A. Andande reported that Wade wanted to stay in Miami.  This is no surprise because Wade will continue to be the number one guy for the team able to lure a number one A free agent, this is the team he began his NBA career with, and probably more importantly, won an NBA title with.  Considering the “weakness” of the Eastern Conference, the Heat aren’t too far off from making the postseason and making noise.

The Bottom Line From This Blogger: I honestly don’t see Wade leaving Miami.  Everything just seems fine there with presence of Pat Riley, the likelihood another top free agent signs with him with the Heat, and no state tax.  Plus, Wade is obviously comfortable with Heat, so unless something super anomalous happens, I wouldn’t expect him to sign with the Nets.
