How long does Jerry Stackhouse continue this tear? He’s cooled off since the Celtics game, but he’s still got a ridiculous +/-.
Follow up question: If/when he does, does MarShon finally get his minutes back?
December 6, 2012 at 10:39 pm #50051I don’t think he’s going to drop down too much. Most of his scoring has been from corner 3′s which seem to be almost automatic. The plus-minus will certainly get worse at some point. But he’s a threat from the outside and the nets need that. As much as I love Marshon they don’t really need another iso scorer on the floor. And he doesn’t really contribute on any other aspect of the game other than offense. But he’ll get his share of minutes. Avery has already played Stack very little minutes in the game before a big game
December 6, 2012 at 10:49 pm #50053I definitely agree with all of that. It’s just got to be awful going from starting as a rookie to DNPs after DNPs. It can’t be good for his spirit.
December 6, 2012 at 10:56 pm #50055Jerry’s career 3 point percentage is .309 over 17 seasons. He is shooting the three ball at .447 this year, an amazing rate, but 17 years is too large a sample size to not expect that to regress back closer to his normal numbers. I certainly think the 37 year old can remain productive, but we should have some realistic expectations as Nets fans. As for Marshon, he should get minutes back, but he’ll have to earn it in practice.
