According to Milwaukee Bucks beat writer Gery Woelfel, the Brooklyn Nets are front-runners for the talents of Ersan Ilysasova. Take a look:
While the Bucks want to retain Ilyasova, it’s unclear whether the feeling is mutual. That’s why some NBA officials believe the New Jersey Nets — who scouted Ilyasova rather extensively late in the season — are the front-runners for his services.
Ilyasova enjoyed a breakout season last year, averaging 13 points and 8.8 rebounds a game, after showing flashes of upside during his first three years as an NBA player.
The word on the street is that Ilysasova will command an eight-million-per-year paycheck at least. Knowing this, I’m expecting the Nets will be spending this offseason. Maybe we are finally done with the one-year contracts?
We will keep you posted.
