Will Kevin Garnett play the second half of a back-to-back?

After playing 24 minutes in Friday night’s overtime loss to the Washington Wizards, Brooklyn Nets coach Jason Kidd said in his pregame press conference that Garnett will suit up tonight against the Indiana Pacers.

“He’s suiting up,” Kidd said, coy about his player’s minutes, not offering a direct “Yes” or “No.”

Over the summer, Kidd made an offhand statement that he was considering a few different coaching tactics, one including benching new Nets forward Kevin Garnett on one half of back-to-back games.

Garnett met this rule with, ahem, tempered enthusiasm.

Kidd later backed off his comments, saying that he had a “plan” for Garnett that Garnett would agree to. Garnett did not play in back-to-backs in preseason.

Garnett has struggled out of the gate, averaging just 6 points on 30.4% shooting on 22.4 minutes per game in the team’s first five contests.
