Before today, the only videos from the unfortunate incident showed the aftermath, the jarring sight of Nets neon-clad “super-fan” Jeffrey Gamblero dragged out by MSG Security without his prosthetic leg.
But new videos posted by NJ.com today from fan Maya Ponzini, who sat near Gamblero at the game, show him dancing and yelling in the crowd prior to the oust, which does not seem particularly unusual for a fan at a sporting event. There’s also an Instagram video that shows a close-up of Gamblero screaming, presumably in pain, as he was taken out of the arena.
In this first video, he dances up and down an apparently unoccupied aisle:
This second video shows Gamblero yelling loudly during the action:
And this third one shows an usher warning Gamblero for his actions, but the two seem cordial, and end the discussion with a handshake.
The final video, taken from the fan’s Instagram page, shows a close-up of Gamblero screaming as he’s dragged out of the arena. Warning you ahead of time: you may find it disturbing.
Gamblero did not attend Wednesday night’s Nets win over the Spurs, and has not responded to any formal media requests to tell his side of the story. We’ll see if he shows up Friday.
