In a game that came down to free throw shooting, Brooklyn Nets forward Paul Pierce rose to the challenge and sank all eight of his free throws, two in the closing seconds of the Nets win over the Miami Heat. Mario Chalmers, a 5th year player out of Kansas, thought he could get into Pierce’s head when Pierce was going to the line to shoot those 2 critical free throws. Pierce, the 15-year veteran out of Kansas, was unfazed.
Pierce sank both free throws, ultimately giving the Nets their first win of the season.
