Brooklyn Nets backup guard Tyshawn Taylor came down hard on his right ankle and jammed it on a fast-break play in the second quarter of the preseason matchup between the Nets and Detroit Pistons.
Taylor didn’t land on anyone’s foot or twist the ankle, and said he wanted to play until they pulled him from the game. With Deron Williams already sidelined with an ankle injury, the Nets don’t want to risk Taylor getting further injured in a preseason game, though Taylor admits he has trouble seeing the bigger picture.
“I mean, it’s an opportunity,” a dismayed Taylor said of the time with Williams on the bench. “He’s definitely going to be sitting out two games and I might be sitting next to him now.”
Taylor was fitted for a walking boot after the game and will most likely not practice with the team tomorrow.
