Brooklyn Nets center Mason Plumlee has been traded to the Portland Trail Blazers for 23rd overall pick Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and backup point guard Steve Blake.
41st overall pick Pat Connaughton will also go to the Trail Blazers in the deal.
Mason Plumlee participated in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest last during Brooklyn’s portion of the All-Star Weekend. He made the All-Rookie Team in 2014, but fell out of the playoff rotation in back-to-back seasons. Plumlee will join a Portland team as insurance for Robin Lopez’s impending departure this summer.
Many expected that Plumlee would be moved if the Nets could move up into the lottery range. Once the time came and went, many assumed that Plumlee would stay put.
Portland has traded Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Steve Blake to the Nets, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.
