Brooklyn Nets guard Marcus Thornton will return to the rotation Wednesday night against the New York Knicks, the team announced today. Thornton bruised his lower back on March 24th, shuffling in and out of the rotation since as he heals up, and will play after missing Tuesday night’s win over the Houston Rockets.
Nets coach Jason Kidd added there will be no limitations for Thornton.
As expected, Kevin Garnett will sit out once again (back spasms), and Andrei Kirilenko (ankle) will also rest. Kirilenko was targeting a mid-week return after spraining his left ankle on March 23rd. He has not played since. Kidd added that Kirilenko felt “good” and is still targeting a return soon. Garnett is targeting a return by the weekend or early next week.
