2. Hiring Isaiah Thomas as Head Coach
Being a head coach in the NBA is not easy. Being a GM in the NBA is not easy. Being Isaiah Thomas since 2003 is not easy. But being a head coach, GM, AND Isaiah Thomas? Anyway, another rash decision by James Dolan and another sign of an unbreakable bond between Isaiah Thomas and the man whose franchise he ruined.
After Dolan dumped Larry Brown, Thomas was appointed head coach. As if being president of basketball ops wasn’t bad enough, Jim had to afford him the opportunity of leading an overpriced, underperforming Knicks roster that Thomas himself had built. Thomas never led the Knicks to a winning record in his tenure.
