Finally, perhaps, a bit of clarity.
The will they/won’t they saga that is Brook Lopez’s long, long career with the Brooklyn Nets has added a new wrinkle as they’re apparently asking for two first-round draft picks in any deal, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.
Instantly, the internet and feeds alike were lit by trolls of all backgrounds as they banded together to say things like #goodluck and in what world is he worth that? But, before we even proceed, I’d like to point your attention in this direction — exactly two years ago, this happened:
“The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to trade two first-round draft picks for Denver Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.”
So, yeah, it shouldn’t be surprising that the Nets have set the bar of entry at just two. Of course, there’s loads of time before the NBA trade deadline and Kenny Atkinson and Sean Marks have made it quite clear that they feel no pressure to move Lopez.
We’ll certainly update as the what-feels-like-ninth-straight-year of Lopez rumors get underway.
