Sergey Karasev out for season with knee injury

Sergey Karasev is out for the remainder of the season after suffering a torn MCL and a dislocated patella in his right knee during the fourth quarter of Tuesday night’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Nets announced.

Karasev did not travel with the team to Miami for tonight’s game, and will undergo surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan tomorrow on the knee. He had been in and out of the rotation all season, starting at shooting guard for 16 of his 33 games played. He averaged 4.6 points and 2.0 rebounds in 16.8 minutes per game.
